I Like My Style launch & Stick Core pt. 2
A little lesson in Berlin timing this week; after a day slaving away at my laptop (have decided to commit myself to more writing projects, with the unfortunate side effect of deadlines) i typed my last word at 8pm and emailed my piece off to a hopefully satisfied editor and decided to take up some invites for the night to celebrate…
First stop Voo store, only an unfashionable early hour after start time, was really just beginning to simmer, a little peruse of stock and launching mag I Like My Style blog’s new mag and decided to move on to somewhere with free(er) drinks. Next stop Idrawalot Gallery where a friend was part of a sticker exhib ‘Stick Core pt. 2’, turns out too early for that too, said friend still having pre drinks at unknown destination, and drinks vv cheap rather than free, thats how Neukoln rolls though…
On the way home contemplated popping back into voo but decided on bed, only to hear place was pumping half hour before end time… lesson learnt; never be early to anything in Berlin; I think i can manage that…

Breathing Colours Gallery.
Straight off the plane to Sydney, on bare minimum sleep and unwashed hair (but lets face it that not unheard of) i headed to Balmain to check out the last day of the Breathing Colours Christmas exhibition where amongst other works some of my handmade jewellery pieces are being shown.
The website, which was all i had seen so far, being based in Berlin, doesn’t really do the gallery/retail space justice; a joyful little treasure trove of exciting and colourful Australian design, a visit is more like breathing/eating/dreaming/smoking colours; a happily overwhelming, colourful, inspiring experience. Cheerful owner Jess completing the colour-filled picture with her rosy cheeks and golden curls.
My wish list pieces include Chloe Waddell’s yummy looking ‘freckle’ bangles, Amanda Hasenkam’s cute little sky, earth, sea brooches and Not Tuesdays polymer clay bead necklaces for those of you who haven’t yet gotten me a belatedchristmas/welcomebacktoaustralia/pooryou,youaresobroke gift; take note!
