Showroom Visits.
The Edged Showroom. Glashaus and der Arena. Eichenstr 4. Berlin.
Unlike Sydney Fashion Week, Berlin is all about the showrooms (especially when your not important enough to be invited to the official tent- working on it!) so during the week i tried to pop in to a couple i always find new designers more interesting anyway
Weirdly wonderful Minna Palmqvist showing a video of a melting wax mannequin, Nico Sutor (who has formally worked with Juliaandben) with interesting unisex braided jersey basics, Swedish (Austrian sorry my mistake) designers Mark&Julia (they had heard of my blog- totally killer awsome!), crazy colorful prints and some cross stitch images of his mother thrown in by Belgium Tom van der Borght, sports basics Ucon with veeery attractive male model in lookbook and personal pick Cedric Jacquemyn; Antwerp Fashion Academy graduate who has already designed a small collection for Weekday and is showing in Paris, with his beautiful moody menswear, skillfully cut and gorgeous fabrics inspired by Iceland/global warming type issues… actually I’m going to email him now for a press release because my descriptive rambeling doesn’t really do the work justice… anyway coolest jewellery ever tiny seed caught in resin symbolizing fertility or something… again maybe just look at the pics, Cedric described it really well but forgot to write down the quote…
