Mies Nobis + VOODOO market = Saturday fun…
I’ve been hesitant about selling my jewellery at Design markets- Berliners are notoriously cheap and especially in vintage market situations there are too many bargains to be found for less than a coffee for people to bother with anything else, but i was recommended the Voodoo markets and thought i would give it a try- at the very least its always a nice day surrounded by so many other local creatives; didn’t get much browsing time but was situated between Mayflower Vintage seller Luka and lovely hand made porcelain brooches by Elicamente, also really liked the chain rings from I Need More Rings and crochet necklaces from Gudbling…
Because i am not so into the swing of markets and generally a bit angsty about doing things right, despite spending a few hours setting up the night before i arrived before anyone else in the morning and spent almost four hours arranging and re arranging before i realized i was just getting in potential customers way and had to force myself to STEP. AWAY. from the display area…
After this things went really well, actually its nice being able to personally talk with people about my work and having friends pop by and say hi, i guess i struggle a little with being stuck int the one spot all day; I’m one of those needy people that needs bathroom/ciggarette/snack/coffee breaks about every five minutes and as you never know when a good contact or newbestcustomer might come by its best to be present as much as possible; but all in all it was a great day for my little label, good music, lovely people and lots of sales, so you will definitely see me back at the Voodoo market no. 9 if they will have me…
